Oil now at $105 a barrel

Friday, March 7th, 2008

A few weeks ago the price of Oil hit a new record high. Two weeks ago it hit the US $102  a barrel mark and last week it  marched past US $104 dollar mark. This week the price of oil has hit a new record. Oil is not priced at over $105 dollars per barrel.

The strange things is that the Jamaican Government is slient on the issue. Cuban Light Bulb issue that yes needs to be dealt with it must not distract from other serious issues that face the Minister of Energy. If Minister Clive Mullings fails to deal with this Energy issue,  with the even more intensity than the Cuban Light Bulb scandal, it would be extremely sad. What is the government’s position on energy conservation, does anyone know?

PetroJam actually reduced the price of Gasoline this week to my surprise. This Oil problem is a serious issues and only few commentators like Sunday Herald write and Power 106  talk show host Ralston Hyman making a big deal about our oil bill for next.

At what point will the Government and the Jamaican Public  realize we have a crisis on our hands.
